Please join us the for the May meeting of the Chelsea Area Historical Society – MAY 14th at 7:00 pm at the Chelsea Train Depot. Steven Rigoni, of the Van Buren Historical Society, will be making a presentation on the letters of Captain James Henry Wheaton. James worked north of town and lived in Chelsea after moving with his mother from Grass Lake. Steve will also speak about many local people from Chelsea. James Wheaton is buried at our own Oak Grove Cemetery. The photo above is of the Civil War monument there.
